Vancouver47, your images are certainly better examples of working with this lens and not the ones I was previously referring to. Sorry but I don't know what YCBS means.

I would love to see some interior photography samples of homes and hotels. Very interested in the low distortion aspect of this lens.

I was just on a week long trip to Orlando and the Carolina's and used the 11-24mm most of the time... Plenty of great examples including hotel rooms and such. I will try to get them up sometime this week! I used the built-in viewfinder level to keep lines straight as possible for the most part. Loved the results I got from the lens... At times, I wish I had even wider!

No problem! I hope to start processing some of them tonight and hopefully by tomorrow or Thursday at the latest.

Overall, had a blast with the lens. I personally don't find the lens hard to all to use like some claim especially considering it is a zoom lens after all up through 24mm... So if 11mm is too drastic, it's not much work to change the perspective a bit.

That last one is what this lens was made for.

Beautiful images posted here! I "liked" several of the posts. Thanks for sharing.

When I saw an EF 11-24L, available, on the shelf at Houston Camera Exchange, I very nearly deployed a credit card, to go into debt for this lens. I managed to regain my sanity, persuading myself to be patient, and remain fiscally responsible. (That lens has sold by now, of course! HCE does not sell through the internet, except for clearance items listed on ebay, so they were not swamped by pre-orders, as were Adorama, B&H, etc.) Not that having such a lens is insane, of course, just that the financial commitment would have been premature, in my personal case; not much point in owning the lens if I cannot afford to travel beyond my back yard during my vacation time in June.

Here are another few just taken today. These show how useful this lens will be for landscapers (like myself) for capturing interesting and dramatic skies. The flexibility of being able to go all the way out to 11mm to compose the sky is a real bonus.

Oh, and one more for all you lovers of "whacked out perspectives".

- great shot

this and other shots above, is what UWA are made for aside taking shots in tight interiors - changing the usual perspective, breaking the rules, using the distortion and embracing it at its full capacity.
For perfect non distorted images, please refer to the Otus 55mm .......

Albert,

I really like the shot of the couple standing against the railing.

Got the lens today and walked around the housing complex next to my office, handheld and set to AF, just to get an initial feel for it. These two architecture type images do tell what this lens will do in these conditions @ 11mm. I tried to maintain a vertical sensor plane and these are not corrected for any distortion nor any lens profiles applied. I did correct for a tiny bit of CA in one corner, but compared to my previous 14mm prime, it was far less than I expected. I did contrast, color and sharpening adjustments on these. The first one was quite satisfying and fairly realistic looking. The camera was only about 12-15 inches from the front end of the handrails, thought it appears to be a few feet. The second image is not as realistic. Though the verticals are nearly there, the corners of windows and rooflines are fairly stretched. I think with a bit of correction, this lens can be used for architecture, and not working at the 11mm end would help. It was a wild experience. This lens at 11mm is staggeringly wide. Looking forward to some landscapes using a tripod and manual focus. Body was a 1Ds3.
