On March 3, I had chance to check preproduction Canon 5DS.
I was able to control most functions from my tablet with DSLR Controller program for Android. The memory slot was taped, so there were no shutter released.
I used basic USB 3.0 cable from my hard drive to connect Canon 5DS to tablet's microUSB socket. It worked.

10X enlargement allowed me to focus on girl's eye at the border of frame.
Focus peaking works.
I think this technique is crucial to get fine focus for off center subjects when working with OTUS class lenses.

Cool.

That's the same process I use for tilt-shift lenses on my 6D.

Big news here is that while moving to USB 3.0 cable (first done in Canon 7D mark II), Canon kept USB protocol the same.
So all solutions (including WiFi through TPLink, CamRanger) should work.
Developers still need to add 5DS RAW support to the DSLR Controller for Android.
