Looks like you've dialed in the 'awfully good' setting!

Nice job with the new gear Mike. #2 and 5 are my picks. In #1, I'd clone out the white blob to the left and possibly crop less centered. #3 I might tone down the highlights. The WB looks cloudy ish, maybe cool it ? In #4 I would give a round of sharpening to the bird's head, maybe add contrast to the bird. It looks like you've dialed it in pretty good already buddy.

Mike:
IO am excited for you as I know the excitement of new gear.
Focus is right on on all.
1. Lost detail on the underside.
2. Appears over sharpened.
3. Lost detail on the under side.
4. The best of the bunch.
5. Appears over sharpened around the head.
Your headed in the right direction. Herb and I can be brutally honest.

Over all very nice Michael. The first has a bright spot on the left that you might want to remove or darken. The second has lost a tiny bit of highlight detail, all others are well exposed and the last has great detail and composition.
#1 and #3 seem a little hot on the front but I really really like the pose in #3. I actually like the last one most of all because here at my house they are just too evasive for me! TFS
