I don't understand you guys and gals, I posted a thread looking for help on setting up a 5D3 for birds in flight and got one reply. I post this stupid thread and everyone jumps in.

I have had a 5D3 for about a year now and still screw about with the AF settings occasionally without any real idea what I am doing. I certainly don't know enough to give people advice on it when shooting events, much less when taking photos of birds.

This lens is still absolutely ridiculous and has been around for sometime . Long enough for most of us to have formed some sort of opinions about it.

I tried hand holding the 5200/14, and something similar to this happened -

He's replied a few times in this thread. From what I see...it's his time to waste if he so chooses.

For the amount of gear that guy is carrying- his legs should be much larger, and those shorts should be much longer.

Who is cheap enough to buy a used Simga

Hi EBH,

(fade up from black)

1 x 6-month-old LNIB 300-800mm from a wonderful FM seller in 2008...$5,500
1 x 6-week-old LNIB 5D Mark II from another wonderful FM seller 2009...$2,400
1 x 2-month-old LNIB 7D from yet another wonderful FM seller in 2010...$1,300

...with money left over for a CF tripod and gimbal head for the cost of one used 800mm L.

7-years of nature trekking, and tens-of-thousands of outdoor images...priceless.

(fade to black)

I prefer...(cough)..."frugal".

Exactly right! He was Commodore Matthew Decker in "The Doomsday Machine" episode of Star Trek (1967).

But, did the Commodore actually die at that time?
