p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Witchcraft!

Since picking up a Fuji setup to use alongside my Canon gear I have hardly used the 1Ds2 or 7D at all. They are the best option for action over the Fuji but over the winter months I haven't shot anything that I really needed the performance for... So that's it I thought, I'm going to sell off the Canon gear rather than let it sit and gather dust. So I visit an online retailer specialising in second hand gear to get an idea of prices.... and tomorrow I now have a 1D mark IV being delivered, how'd that happen?!

I'm really looking forward to it arriving and getting back into shooting more sports again and maybe a bit of wildlife as well. I'll be selling the 7D, and should really sell the 1Ds2 but I appear to have more attachment to that camera than I thought...

Maybe the mysterious spell that possessed you to get the Fuji in the first place is finally wearing off. Yeah, that must be it.

I kind of look at Fuji as a compact Pentax but with sharper lenses...

If Fuji would get on the ball with making compact weather-resistant lenses, they'd be golden, IMO.

Pfft, the Fuji's aren't perfect for sure but the size/performance I've found to meet my needs. A small bag with the X-E1/23mm and X-T1/56mm is lovely.

I use the X-E2 with XF 14/2.8, 27/2.8, 35/1.4, and 18-55 OIS for travel, along with an EOS SL1 and EF 70-200/4L IS.

I'm off on a short break for easter, I'll just take the X-T1 with 23mm, 56mm and 18-55mm. Hell I'll probably chuck in the 35mm and 50-230mm as well!

Having to wait another year for their long tele is a killer, when I bought into the system I thought I'd have that by now!

Hey, I'm not knocking Fuji. I've had a couple of them myself... still have one. But you asked how your unintended behavior happened and I just offered a suggestion for what might have taken place. You gotta be careful messing around with "witchcraft" you know .

Indeed

It arrived today, too late to try out but it's nice to handle a newer 1D body again. I may keep the 1Ds2 as it's really not worth a lot now, but it does feel just a tad slower in comparison

I think you're gonna love the 1D4 for anything action because of the focus capabilities. I just picked up another one myself... not that I need two, but it was such a sweet deal on a pristine body I couldn't let it slip by me.
