The vast majority of the battles were between the juveniles. They'd also pick pine cones off the trees and carry them off. Not sure what the purpose of that is. You can see a pine cone dropping in one of the images above.
I'd happily claim the excuses...umm, disclaimers for these shots...really like the intensity you're seeing in that first shot. Almost like it's a training session and the adult is playing moderator.
This is great action, for sure, and no excuses needed. I'm not sure that raptors have a word for "Fun" in their vocabulary; they are very serious critters. But if I could do that, I'd think it was fun!

That aside, these are great action sequences. They must have been exciting to see! Incredible sighting.
