Do you like it, in general?
Evertdoom,
Overall yes.
I needed to get use to the resolution.
The 24" was pushed over and replaced a 22".
So I can still do comparisons.
I am really liking editing in adobe98 gamut.
Love the color rendering. Now I want all my images to be viewed like this.
First time hardware calibration user. (as appose to graphic cards (software) calibration.)
The Dell 2713H uses LUT.
I purchased the Xrite calibration that is the only calibration tool which will work with the Dell.
I am working through this workflow and how to use/implement.
It is not all rosy.
Some album companies will use adobe98 and others only sRGB.
An example, Finao is only sRGB.
I even asked if they would use adobe98 jpeg with an up-charge. No joy.
For web images, all 3 major (Chrome, IE and firefox) web browser can detect and render adobe98 gamut.
The down side is on the mobile side - sRGB only.
Overall, I am able to see more in the default viewing (no zooming needed).
This will push me to refine my shooting technique.
This is a good thing.
Honestly, right out of the box I was a little disappointed because of the smaller font, etc.
I did increase font size but it looked weird.
I also felt lost because of questions I have in the workflow and I am finding limitations in how images are being viewed. (web/print)
But after editing 3800 images for a wedding, as I reviewed the results...
I noticed really consistent colors (WB/tint) ...this was with 2 shooter and 3 cameras... 1DX/5DmkIII/5DmkII.
There was quite a bit of high ISO (4000+ - 1DX) and pushing over a stop for proper exposure -5DmkII.
Bigger viewing area is a plus and what I wanted. This came through in the editing.
For me, I am learning how to use this monitor to extract the best for my editing services and my own wedding coverage.
It is making me look through the entire workflow, especial color rendering and presentation.
