p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · question about n.j. store

I've been checking out price range on 6D.

Came across a store in N.J. called DaxMart that has a lower price on the 6D than all others I've checked.
Never heard of this place before and so wonder if any of you are familiar with it.
Usually purchase all my gear from B&H.

Every time I read one of these I think...

1. B&H
2. Adorama
3. Canon Direct (refurbs)

Always the best "advertised price"? NOPE...

Best to deal with for a fair and competitive price? YEP...

I have found that it's just not worth the worry or aggravation to deal with other vendors. I've spent more than someone at my income bracket has a right to and I've never been burned in anyway by the above (and an honorable mention to Canoga Camera in Calif. who is no longer in business unfortunately).

Also-I have in the past done very well on the Buy and Sell Forum here, but haven't used it in quite some time...

Watch Canon Price Watch and similar sites - Canon Rumors, Canon Watch.

You can get the Canon 6D from Ritz Camera for 1,250 net after rebate with a printer. Then sell the printer for $100 or more (this one is the more expensive Pro 10.)

http://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/2015/03/hot-eos-6d-pixma-pro-10-for-1249-ar-ritzcamera-authorized/

That is cheaper than most of the used prices here! Sometimes Buy and Sell can be a little high compared to available deals.

Or buy the body only at the $1,250 "street price."

Or buy from one of the "decent" grey market sellers on ebay. This deal is expired, but the 6D was $1,100 ( then $1,050 with a $50 off coupon.)

http://www.canonpricewatch.com/blog/2015/02/super-hot-5d-mark-iii-import-for-1949-bigvalueinc-ebay/

Personally I would grab the RitzCamera deal and sell (or keep) the printer. Don't expect to get too much for it. A little bit more than what the inks are worth.

Research realistic sales prices first. Remember that it is the Canon Pro 10, NOT the ubiquitous Pro 100.

looks like the usual scam site .

a couple of flags instantly come to mind

Flag 1:
Clicked DSLR's and filtered for Canon .
http://www.daxmart.com/CategoryList.asp?CategoryID=10&ManufacturerID=4

Unless these guys like to corner the market on OLD bodies why are the advertising 30D 40D 50D and 5D bodies . thats just the first page . also so many `Lens kits to choose from most of which make little sense .

Flag 2: is a more usual flag with these scam sites
http://www.daxmart.com/Canon-EOS-5D-Kit-1-w-Canon-18-55mm-and-More/p-4713

&
http://www.daxmart.com/Canon-EOS-5D-Kit-14-w-Canon-17-85mmIS-amp-70-300mmIS-and-More/p-4720

What use is an EFs lens on a FF body . ?

this is usually the 'classic' thing to look for with possible scam/bait and switch sites . most of them have it .

at best its a bait and switch . you'll buy the 6D 'cheap' and get a call to say its the 'cheaper' version of the camera and you'll be better off upgrading to one that comes with a battery or something . at worst you'll just get a house brick thru the post (if your lucky enough to get anything)

STAY AWAY . the likes of B&H sell things at that price for a reason .

I always look at the memory cards. For example see this ripoff:

I am in NJ and never heard about, anyway go Amazon or BH or Adorama to be safe. Cheap in this bussiness sounds scam, you could get good deals on Ebay but this is all.
