The last couple of years, I've used the Phottix Strato II's and they are great except for one thing. The transmitters don't last if you put flashes on them. All of mine have broken at the same spot over time.

As wedding season is quickly approaching it's time for me to buy a new set of triggers. Is there a better option than the Strato II's? The TTL pass though is the main feature I want along with reliabilty. I don't care about TTL for the off camera receivers.

Yn-622, pixel king are the ones I have tested.

I only use them for HSS trigger, not even ttl pass through anymore.

When I used them I sorta viewed their disposable nature as a deal with the devil. Good for 40~60 weddings, then throw away. For the price, I didn't really mind, though.

Ah yes...I still use the strato IIs (including a few of the broken ones) but I have been attaching them via the camera's/flash's PC sync port rather than using them as pass-thru devices. I rubber-band them to the flash heads. Still pretty reliable. When they stop being reliable or when I want more than 4 groups per channel I'll probably want to switch again.

I've had a good experience with the YN-622s. The TTL function on the OCF does allow for flash power control remotely using the master flash or a YN-622TX.

This is exactly what I do with my cactus V5s.

Pocket Wizard Flex TT5 and Mini TT1 have been a reliable setup for me.

+1 on the Cactus v6, though I never use it. TTL pass through only, manual with power control over the air for remote flashes.

Since you like the Stratos and just don't like the breakage, how about a bracket (e.g., the Demb Flash Bracket) and an SC-29? No more breakage and you get to keep your AF Assist beam if needed.

Regarding the recommendations for PW FlexTT5's, they don't do FV Lock on Nikons; a non-issue if you don't use FV Lock, and a deal-breaker if you do.
