Few things that annoy me in the buy and sell forum
1. Cameras that ONLY have 100 shutter actuations though they come with a full bucket of batteries.
2. "The item I'm selling is in MINT condition with ONLY a few scratches here and there". Honestly, most people have no idea what mint is. I can't even count how many times I purchased MINT items only to look like garbage, items that I would not rate a 7.
3. Items that sell for retail price only because they come with useless EXTRAS like cases, batteries, cords, straps. People throw everything in the sale just to get rid of the garbage. When I inquire for a price without the extras, I'm always told that everything has to be sold together. "Once I sell the camera, I have no use for any extras". Sure, like I have use for a pink camera case.
4. "This $3000 camera was purchased back in xxxxxxxx (at least 5-6 months back) and used only a couple of times inside for testing. My price is close to retail because it is in like new condition"
Seriously? Someone spends $3000 for a camera only to be used for a couple test shots?
Now, I understand there are people that can afford to spend $3000 on an item and keep it on a shelf unused for months, but those people, usually, don't try to sell at market value. If they did not care about $3k in the first place (and keep it on a shelf), they would probably not care if their item sold below the market value. I find it hard to believe those cameras have been unused for months.
5. "The price is net to me. I pay shipping."
To me, 'net' means whatever I have left after I pay shipping, paypal fees, insurance. If I sell something for $50 and end up paying $10 for shipping, net to be is only $40.
6. "Insurance extra, and paid by the buyer". As already mentioned in another thread, if a package is lost or damaged, the seller loses everything if the buyer decides to file a claim. Insurance is to cover the seller's rear in case something happened with the package.
7. "I accept paypal gift". Where I come from a gift is a gift, it doesn't cost money. Besides, Paypal is in business to make money not to support my hobby.
