Hopefully, one day this little cub will grow up to be a fearsome hunter like this adult male. Amazing how light makes a difference...the first just after golden light in the evening and the others in mid-morning much harsher light.
Eric

Tres bien Eric! The first does benefit from that nice light (and your photo touch).

Nice collection of shots Eric...love the cub and the light, and the look you're getting in the last one...a second to relax after making the kill, but still watchful for predators.

You're one lucky dude, getting to shoot beautiful creatures like these. Great light and color. Wonderful work.

Beautiful shots Eric. I wonder what the first image would look like with the color balance a tad more blue?

All of them are striking images, Erik.
The first sure has terrific light but you could warm up the others a little bit.
I did add a little yellow in the shadows with the split toning future in Camera raw.
Then slightly increased vibrance and local contrast. Of course, this can't beat the light in the first image.

Great shots Eric. Even though the first is in golden light I find the whole image to be too yellow. I agree with Ted that it may help to just cool the WB a little but not too much to loose that golden hour light. It is more the colour in the tree and foliage that bugs me a bit.

Thanks so much for all your thoughts, idea, nits and brutal honesty...and to think I thought I was perfect ....I haven't forgotten your comment and fix up Chris...I'll get to that next. But for the golden child I have made two variations...one more cool the other less cool but not en fuego either...anyone who wants to throw their proverbial hat in the ring please go ahead.

Eric, I much prefer the original golden child shot.
I'm sure landscape photographers don't correct the color cast when they shoot in the golden or blue hour.

I am sure you are right...in the depths of the golden hour things look totally different than they do even a few minutes later...I think it helps to process shortly after the shoot...weeks and months later it is impossible to really remember what the scene looked like. Thanks so much for your thoughts.
