A few shots from a couple of weeks ago while making an early morning drive down the beach. I've identified the raptor as a Merlin, but it very well could be a young Peregrine, I'm not sure, hopefully someone that knows a great deal more than I can correctly ID it.
That's the kind of drive down the beach I would like, Louie. Cool that you caught the ,as said, juvie Peregrine at all, this close, and on different perches. Beautiful light on the first. Well done.

Can't beat an outing like that Louie, a bald eagle and an adult merlin. You got to love those falcons. Peregrine juvenile is more brown with similar streaking as this guy, but quite a bit bigger. It does look almost like a peregrine. Do you have any shots of the tail markings or an IF ?

Thanks very much Herb, I'll look and see if I have any photos that show more clearly his tail. Don't think I was fast enough on this occasion to catch his take-off or flight.
