I've been following this forum for a long time, but didn't had the upload option in the last years. Finally decided to start participating, so here it is my first photo, a Green Woodpecker (Picus viridis).
I'm from Portugal and this was photographed in the North near Porto.
A very nice shot Luis. Welcome to N&W - you are off to a very nice start. I've never seen this beautiful woody posted here - congrats on being the first ~ Ron
Welcome to the forum. That's a lovely bird, and quite different from what we have here, although the shape, posture and attitude look no different, just the color. Very cool, and nice work.

It is quite green! I guess that is why it is called a green woodpecker. And I'm green with envy. Very well done Luis, and welcome to the world of posting on F&W.
Looks great, Luis! Welcome to the forum, and I'll look forward to seeing more Portuguese wildlife! (iso 4000 with the 7d2--should be an advert for Canon!)

Welcome to the forum. Thanks for sharing this species. First one I've seen here. Is the breast of this species typically green ?
Thanks Herb. Yes, their breast and overall body are green. This is an adult male.

Thanks Greg. I'm very happy with my 7D2 results with high ISO. Have several good photos on the 4000-5000 range.
