Both of these lenses are new to the market, so not sure how much exposure people have to them.

I preordered my sigma 24mm for use on my D600. Wanted wider for some landscape and some night time photography and some astrophotography.

Someone mentioned the Tamron in another thread and now I am considering whether this might be a better choice?? or a more versatile one?

My budget really doesn't allow for the Nikon 14-24. Or rather, I don't see this lens as an every day lens for me, hence the money is better spent elsewhere.

What do you normally shoot with zooms or primes?

If you want good affordable zooms-Tamron.

If you want good affordable primes-Sigma.

I have some of both and have no regret not getting nikon/canon lenses.

The 15-30mm is lot more verstile, but if you need 1.4 you need the 24mm. Faster lenses at 24mm or less is not needed most of the time IMHO for what I shoot.

I hope to try them both when the prices comes down or a used copy.

I don't know about the Tamron, but I have high expectations for the Sigma 24/1.4!

For the price of the two lens you are considering you could have bought the Nikkor or at least a good used copy. Unless you need the f/1.4.

I shoot both. I have a Sigma 35 ART. Probably one of my favorite lenses. I also have a Samyang 14mm and a 85mm Nikon. Plus a few Zooms.

I shoot a D600 and D7100.

It all depends on what you want to shoot.

I'm lucky enough to have both the Nikon 14-24mm and the 24mm 1.4, and without a doubt, the zoom gets much more use. I do adore the 24mm though, and love the results it gives when I use it. If I had to give one of them up… now that would be a hard decision!

Sorry for the unhelpful reply!
