A group of friends are sitting in their favorite pub enjoying a beer. Regulars they are, and they know all the names and faces of the patrons. Suddenly the front door bursts open and a stranger screams at them "I hate this place! The beer is flat and warm!! I'm going to the pub down the street!!!" And he storms out and the door slams shut. Puzzled, the men look at one another. "Who was that?" one says.. Another says "Never seen him before in my life." They all nod their heads in agreement, and continue drinking their beers and enjoy their evening...

Well folks, I have finally seen the light and offloaded my sigma 150-600c.
I got hold of the nikon 200-500vr and love it!
The sigma lens was ok but in all the 12 months I used it I was never really blown away it.
The final straw came a few weeks ago when the bokeh spoiled a would be prize winner of a shot with its poor appearance.
Got to be honest here the nikon is simply just that little bit nicer in its sharpness, colours, contrast and vr.
The 100mm shortfall in its reach when compared to the sigma is no problem as 500mm

The Sigma 150-600C should not be confused with the Sigma 150-600S.

I agree, the C is not as good as the Nikon 200-500, but the S is superior to the Nikon.

Thank you for your insight. I guess I've been completely fooled by the lowly 150-600mm Contemporary.

I made the leap and bought an hour ago the 150-600 Contemporary

first attempt in my garden below the house were very nice, for such a large lens

Hope to post in the near future when I have a little more experience and a subject interesting enough

The black background in your shot really makes it special. Here is one shot through the wires.

Why f11? don't you consider MTF's for best IQ?? Plenty of DOF at f8
and you'd drop your ISO's significantly.
