Me and Venus playing around with some flash and christmas lights. What do you think about the flash on her? The setup was main flash on 1/4 or 1/2 shooting through umbrella at approx 35-45° angle (difficult to place Venus accurately ) and at about 1,7 meters height, then I had fill light (1/16) on a table approx 35° slightly above her head. I also had a flash behind her to try to give some hair light. What do you think about these portraits?

Reminds me of Sammy, my sister's dog, when we were young. He was a tireless ball chaser. Thanks for posting Stefan.

I prefer the first one with the nose and eyes in a similar plane of focus. With the perspective and FL for the other three, the skinny dof is a bit of a distraction for me.

Exposure looks okay, as does the balance to the lights, but the color looks magenta/blue in the fur.

Not sure which flash you are using (strobe vs. studio), but some lights incur a color shift when power is reduced. Also, in trying to balance exposure between flash and ambient, the color influence of ambient is partly in play.

I have corrected the WB... is this better? I'm using 2x Yongnuo 560 III and Nikon SB-600 as hair light.

Yep, that's it! She looks like a real sweetheart. Pretty photo.

for me its all about the eyes .
the reflections in the eyes ruin it for me ...pity
no 1 has the best choice of depth of field
she done well ..posing with all those flashes going off

nice job

I'm just doing this in my living room (I'm renting) and unfortunatly it's all white and with white tiles. How can I minimise this reflection in the future? Putting black cloth on floors and walls?
