It's an excellent demo of why you can't get a simple one-pop flash synch at shutter speeds above the "shutter synch" speed (i.e. the highest shutter speed at which the whole sensor is exposed at the same time).

It is explained in the last minute of the video. Basically, they use the 7D for the normal time videos accompanying the slo mo stuff, so it gets a lot of substance abuse from explosions etc.
