Hi,
This is processed from data I gathered in October and November (about 13 hours of light-frame exposures).
It's a spiral galaxy (NGC300) in the southern constellation Sculptor, quite close, and apparently gravitationall-bound, to NGC55, whose image I posted a couple of months ago. It's about half the size of our galaxy, but otherwise considered very similar to our galaxy. It's too far away (about 6 million light years)for me to resolve individual stars); the blue globs are groups of young, hot stars, and the pinkish regions are where active star forming is taking place.
Camera: Santa Barbara Instruments Group STL11000M
Telescope: 14.5" f/9 RC Optical Systems Ritchey-Chrétien Cassegrain
Mount: Paramount ME
Enjoy!
