Nice Eric. Where did you see these? African wild dogs are an amazing species, and a real treat to see. They are critically endangered, with estimates of only 5000-6000 left in the wild. They are also one of the most successful predators due to their incredible communication and team hunting tactics. Once a hunting party targets something, 90% of the time it ends in a successful kill. I was ecstatic to find a pack with pups while on foot in Zimbabwe last September.
Cheers,
Hobbes
Thanks Hobbes...was lucky to find these guys in Botswana...the large pack at Savuti (not Savute elephant camp) and a smaller one in the Kwando concession.

Fantastic set Eric! The intensity in the eyes is 4 and 5 is incredible! Is the dog you are focused on the pack leader?
Birdie
It is amazing to see them go from playful dogs to ruthless killers in the blink of an eye.

Thanks BB...the first two are a bit more tame....not exactly their true nature but the do look much cuter and lovable in those.
