Finally got out to the coastline this weekend. 1D3 and 70-200 f4 combo. C&C welcome. If I goofed somewhere, feel free to throw the book at me. Most of these are 100% crops or more.

Not bad for large crops and the difficult lighting it appears you had. Nicely done.

They were actually taken on the Houston ship channel. Was waiting for the sun to set on the Fred Hartman Bridge for some night shots, and these birds were just hanging out in the bay. Just happened to have my 1D3 in the trunk!

After viewing your night shots of the bridge, which is very nice, and looking at the angle and structures in the night shot, I suspect it was taken at Bayland Park. Is it a good birding place in that area? Thanx.

Correct, Bayland park. It's a great place. I wish I had more lens to eliminate the heavy cropping, but other than that, it was nice. They have covered tables, restroom, store nearby at the marina. I'm learning to go where the fishermen are for these shots!

If you ever shoot the bridge, the marina/peninsula is great as well. The ladies that run the marina are super nice to photographers. There were 5 of us out there, all with tripods, by the time the sun set.
