p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · question about Wimberley WH200 gimbal head

Are there two versions of this head? If so what are the differences? I often see them advertised and talked about as the WH-200 version II. Thanks

Looks like they added a side mount version. Here is a link to their website.

They did have a WH101 version. It was heavier and to me not quite as smooth as the 200.

Thanks Howard , I had looked at that and am still left a little confused. If they have different model numbers like WH-100/101 and WH-200 or WH-200S for the side mount why refer to the WH-200 as a version II? It begs the question, what is a WH-200 version 1?
I'm pretty convinced there is no WH-200 version II. Wimberley should just stick to the model numbers and drop the "version".

I have not heard of 2 versions of the WH200. But, I don't pay attention to their product line as others on this forum might.

The Wimberley Head Version II offers the same stiffness, capacity, and fluid movement of the old version in a more compact and lightweight package (it is one pound lighter and about two inches shorter). The head’s redesigned panning base has zero play, and the pan locking knob has been moved to the side of the head, thus allowing the user to easily operate both knobs with the same hand. New lobed “soft-touch” knobs provide a more comfortable grip and perform better when using gloves

Found the above with a quick google search, does it help?
