Do you want the purchase price or what my gear is worth if I sell them today? Because there is about $10K difference between these.

Right now 10-15k, but in a short amount of time I'll probably jump up to the next bracket when I can put together the funds for the long lens in the next few months. I'm also counting on what I paid for some of these, which some of them were used, but some were new 15 to 20 years ago, so that might even things out some.

Tripods, ball heads, nodal rails, rain cover, bags, charger, batteries, speedlight, stobes, mods, light stands, computer, software, and other accessories should also be included in your gear cost.

A lot. It used to be all Nikon. But since the release of the 7DII, not so much.

Total current including everything from cards/readers to bodies ~ 13731

Total spent since I leaped from a kodak P$S to now 63631.62 ( the wife knows )

Net spending after all that I sold on CL and Fleabay ! ~17K The delta between purchase and sold has fallen as I am exclusively a used buyers seller and always on the look out

Just counting my DSLR body, lenses, tripod, and ballhead, I'm in the $5,001-$10,000 range. I didn't count my MBP since even though I use it for LR and PS to process my files, I have other uses for it too.

THIS is where my total goes up fast. Really Right Stuff, Gitzo, Markins, Think Tank, Pocketwizard, Lastolite, Eneloops...

Luckily, my d700 + 24/1.4 + 70-200 fulfill every meaningful need i have, so i havent needed to upgrade my 8 year old computer and photoshop cs3.

still, this hobby takes a financial backseat to firearms. every round down range is like throwing a quarter at the target. and i easily go through a few hundred rounds every shooting session. i need new, less expensive hobbies!!

If you think photography is an expensive hobby . . . take a look at vintage watch collecting.
