A couple of months ago, I got my Fuji XT-1 and have been pleased with the results using my three Fuji lenses. But on a whim, I bought a Metabones adapter, with the hope of being able to try my old Minolta RF Rokkor-X 500mm mirror lens on this crop-sensor body, effectively giving it a 750mm perspective. It's a fixed f/8 lens. I finally took it out for a brief spin in Laguna Beach, looking westward this morning. Two captures are presented. The first, a boat estimated at around 3000 yards offshore, with Catalina Island 33 miles in the distance. The second, a hummingbird at the absolute minimum focusing distance, around 20 feet. Both photos have insane amounts of clarity and contrast added in Lightroom, with a moderately large amount of sharpening (also in Lightroom). Great photos? Nah. Interesting experiment? I think so.
