More cool stuff Paul. The little lizard sure is well camouflaged.

Paul

I don't believe I have ever come across such dedication. I've made several trips to Africa after landscape, the Big Five, gorillas, chimpanzees, people, etc. Most of the little creatures were viewed as an annoyance. Never a trip focused on these critters and I love macro, lack the commitment. Macro photography requires subject knowledge, discipline and patience. Excellent work. Thanks for sharing.

I cannot help but be a tad envious thinking about the gear weight I could reduce with a couple macros vs the telephotos I drag along.

Thanks everyone it's always most appreciated!

Don- I'm still deliberating. If I do see them it will be in the DRC, but the logistics right now is a little complicated.

Thanks Gerard, though I could say the same thing about the larger animals. Once you move past the superficial shots, then those showing real behaviour and character require anticipation and forethought, often mixed with loads of patience. One of the main differences I've found is that there is a lack of this kind of knowledge in the guides here, thus requiring one to be rather self sufficient. Trust me, the gear weight I've got with me is probably not that much less once you factor in all my camping equipment, solar panels, etc... Hopefully you're next trip down will be a macro safari.

Cheers,
Paul
