I got an unexpected text from my friend about a quarter to midnight on New Year's Eve. He wanted to photograph the first sunrise of 2015. I jokingly mentioned it to my wife. She asked "Are you going?". I was like YES!!!!!!!! We were at a friends house and they all thought I was CRAZY My wife and I got home around 4am. I sat around at for about an hour or so trying not to fall asleep We walked over the Brooklyn Bridge at 5:45am. We never waked over the bridge when it was empty like this! We were the only people on the bridge. It was an awesome shoot! Froze our butts off but worth every minute!

Looks like it was well worth it Christopher. Sometimes those shoots that extract the most from you pay big dividends. Thanks for sharing that first sunrise!
These are great, I take my hat off to you, that is impressive that you managed to stay awake!😃
What a difference the sun coming up and the lights on the buildings going out, looks like two different cities, one day I'm gonna make it over the pond and this viewpoint will be one of the first shots I attempt, I don't know how you guys get anything done, if I lived in that city I would be unable to put my camera down, cheers, Bill.

Dude, you're absolutely crazy! But I'm sure I probably would have done the exact same thing had a friend hit me up to shoot the first sunrise of the year.
While I really dig both shots, I really love your pre-sunrise image.
Thanks Nick! I actually wasn't going to join them. My wife and I were at a friends house for New Years. I wasn't sure if I would make it home in time to get my gear. AND my friends were telling me what a crazy idea it was! The more they kept telling me it was crazy the more I wanted to go That was it!
I like the pre-sunrise photo better as well.
