Nice! I like the feather detail of #1. I have yet to get a good shot of these guys.

Geesh! Just because I posted one... My RBW are closer when I shoot out my kitchen window but they haven't been visiting those bushes/feeders lately so I've had to get them at my backyard feeders which are farther away.

I like #1 a lot; #2 is great but I don't like that his head is cut off a little; cutting off the tail for framing isn't that bad but not the head IMHO. Maybe you were too close? (Is it really possible to be TOO close? hehe) #3 - I'm thinking landscape might work a little better here than portrait but it's still a nice photo and pose!

Great job Morris!

Rich

Thank you Rich,
Yes it's a shame I lost the back of it's head in the second as the tough sticking out is a huge plus. Too close or not fast enough reaction to create the space. Closer would have worked :-}

No, I have a feeder out there that she was visiting, then stashing the seeds in the tree between the bark cracks.

Sometimes I shoot the flash through the window. I chose not to risk the flare. Had I set this up, I'd have taped the flash to my window and used a piece of aluminum foil to reflect my on board flash as a commander.

Thank you Ron

Nice shots! Love how D300 handles the images at such slow shutter speed. Really miss my D300s now

Nice, Morris. We have a resident one as well, but I only seem to get good looks at the feeder.
