No manual with me. Trying to dial EC in manual mode but I'm only getting AEB as the option. How do I get EC back?

Press the Q button and use the back dial?

If you have the internetz, you have access to the manual on the Canon site

Hi bipock,

I'm not sure, cause I don't use it. From my quick read of the manual, it seems that setting Auto ISO is the key. It also seems that you have to be in Av, Tv, or P to change the EC level (not AEB, as you say), and then the EC set in P/Av/Tv is preserved when you go to M mode. Here's a few relevant pages from the manual...

I have no idea, but why would you need EC in M? Are you trying to compensate for some camera problem?

Some people like to use EC in M. I suppose it's a preference. I remember reading a few threads about it in the past year (especially complaints about Canon cameras that don't do it). I'm not one of them (EC user in M, that is), but if a buddy needs help, ... well I try to help.

Thanks Jim. I completely forgot it revolves around Auto ISO.

Because you can use Auto ISO in M, too, and then having EC is wonderful.

Yes, I use that. I was thinking manual mode, not auto ISO.
In auto ISO mode, I press the Set and rotate the front dial to adjust the EC.
It's an odd requirement, but works.

Auto ISO and M are orthogonal. M is on the same "axis" as Av, Tv, P. Auto ISO is an option to all of them. You can dial in EC the way you describe for all modes except for M. M with Auto ISO is called ATv on some cameras, and is incredibly useful in some situations. Having EC then is super helpful, just as it is in Av.

Doesn't seem that an odd requirement, after all even Canon got themselves to adding it
