Now that some D750's are out in the wild, I am looking for low light shots to show off the "D4s like" iso coverage. I am toying between the D810 and the D750 and have read all the stats and spent hours on this forum looking at all relevant topics.

I don't want to get into a debate about build, buffer, etc... this is a pure ask about high iso shots preferably indoor sports but will take anything other than a studio canned shot.

Hoping for anything in the 6400-12800 range.

thanks in advance...

I don't have test shots but I have both a d750 and D4-ish sensor in my Df. 6400-12800 it would be safe to say the D4/s/Df are cleaner sooc jpegs. The 16MP sensor is more sensitive to light and unedited raw files look to my eyes more pleasing in said range. But one can recover more shadows from a the 24/36MP sensors that do clean up very very nicely.

Hopefully someone can provide cool indoor post samples. The d750 sensor won't disappoint.

Thank you very very much to the both of u who responded. I need to get to my iMac to see the link from snapsy.

I really would like the 810 to be competitive as I think it is a better all around camera for the money but if the ISO and autofocus is a huge difference, I will have to side with the 750,

I have the d610 now and the focus system is nice outdoor but indoor it struggles.

Thanks again... Anyone else?

I am looking for the same analysis. Hoping d750 high iso is the equivalent of the d4 which I may replace..

Not as high as you wanted... D810 roughly 20% crop ISO 2000

Took this when I first bought the camera. It's not as high ISO as you wanted, but it's something. I may have moved some sliders in Lightroom though.

Here's a D750 ISO 12,800 / f11 / 1/40sec. Taken at sunset no editing just a RAW shot and straight convert to jpg via Faststone viewer...........................

I made this snapshot of a friend of mine. D750 + 85mm f/1.4 AF-D, ISO 8000, f/1.6. The scene looked much darker to the eye than the picture.

A couple more at 12,800 ISO with the D750 and manual focus 200mm f4 ai. It seems if you can nail the exposure, very high ISO images stand up well with this body... these Fairy Penguin chicks are in the wild at the Burnie foreshore, Tasmania.

Here's one at 6400 and underexposed one stop for an effective 12800. D750, 70-200 VR, through some crappy glass, processed in DxO-10. Moderate crop.

Pushing iso6400 one stop in postprocessing is not the same as shooting iso12800..!!

Maybe I've not seen enough 750 /810 comparisons yet but...the 750 pics I see are clean and good though a bit flat compared with 810 pics. The 810 pic I see often have greater depth, contrast and there's something with the colour. It could the 810 pics I've seen have PP that I prefer, or is this a characteristic of the sensor? If it is the sensor then I ought to consider the Df and 810, not the 750....sorry to drift the thread though I am very interested in the high ISO comparisons too.

On most sensors it is the same, including the sensors discussed in this thread. For the D750/D800 the analog gain cutoff point is around ISO 1200, after which there is no difference in noise between shooting a higher nominal ISO vs lower ISO that's pushed in post.
