As many of you know my camera drowned in these waters a few weeks ago. It happened the day before these photos were taken. Call me stubborn or call me crazy but when I have a photo in mind I am determined to take it. I don't like to use my work camera for personal photography but in order to maintain some sort of sanity, after losing my personal camera while setting up to shoot this scene, I had to go back the next day and try to heal some of the pain. Since then I have not used my work camera for personal use. In fact, I haven't done any shooting or been inspired to. I probably wont shoot again until I get a new camera unless something too good to pass up pops up.
This was my 10th visit over a span of 3 weeks to the same location. Each time I'd usually focus on one or two spots or subjects. I would only spend a few hours there at a time. I can only stand in the icy cold water for so long before my body says "Enough!" This day was also the coldest of the 10 visits. This visit there was only one goal in mind; photograph this "island". It ended up being tricky to shoot. It is not very large and I have almost no room to set up a great perspective. I had to use 2 exposures to get everything in focus. I was pretty frozen after getting a few photos and it was a very slow return to the car. It took several kilometres down the highway until my toes regained their feeling....BUT...I can say I got the shot(s). For what's it's worth anyway!
I hope you enjoy!
Thanks for looking!
