Very pretty, Karen, and I think you really dialed in the right amount of the effect.

My only nit would be to lower some of those hotter areas where the sun is coming through.

Love these graceful creatures. I had the pleasure of swimming along with one for a few minutes during the last scuba trip I took in the Bahamas.

Not having seen the original, I would never have guessed this had special effects. Its a gorgeous image, I love the colors and brightness.

The original was taken with a somewhat early digital camera in a diving housing many years ago. As a consequence, it has some noise issues. The oil paint effect compensates.

I agree with taming the highlights
great choice for the oil effect. It further beautifies the shell and plays well with the look of the water
