p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Let's see your favorite 'critiqued and improved' shots

So I just passed post #1000, most of that time spent on this forum.
So, in honor of that, and as a fun end of year thing, let's see some favorite shots of yours that were 'improved via critique' on this forum.

Thanks to all of you for your help and encouragement along the way. My friends and family have noticed I've improved too.
I've really enjoyed the ongoing posts and seeing skills evolve (both mine and other folks). And, I hope I'm now providing valuable feedback to other people too.

Just to clarify: in the spirit of the forum, and acknowledging the help it has provided, this should be shots that were 'improved via critique' - not shots that you knew were awesome out of the gate and didn't need any help

So without further adieu

#1 - one of my very first Critique posts, I think, and my first experiment with layer blending.

#2 - One of the lessons in D+B to craft a message

#3 - Color balance!

#4 - Fun with selective color series

#5 - recent favorite

I love that lightning strike image. The last is also pretty good.

Here is my favorite. The first is the way it ended up here, but that was too dark to print. I kept working it until I got the second one which I just printed.

Where this forum took it.

where printing took it.

Sometimes the simplest things are the most profound ... and it takes the eyes of others to show it to you.

The critique of this was simply to rotate it from (not shown) a landscape / horizontal orientation to a vertical / portrait orientation.

That's a nice one Ben. I remember seeing it, and I bet it looks great on your wall. I want to go back to Zion and Bryce for more photography now.

That's a nice image Kent. I think I remember seeing that one too. Very simple and intriguing with the successive shades of gray.

Thanks for participating in the thread
