Just processed them tonight. Really liked the black and white rendering. (am continually improving techniques here)

Both are great, but really liking that first one. The B&W processing really sets off those snow capped mountains.

Derek,
The 1st one is very nicely done

Very nice set but I prefer the tighter view in the 1st.
B&W conversion seems just right

White level might be low. What kills me is working in a dark room with a black background when I'm processing images. Even a gray background like this can become problematic.

Love them. My favorite is the second one because of the closer foreground element. Thanks for sharing.

These really pop and love the contrast in B&W. The first one is a great view.
The topmost sky is beginning to look a bit too dark for me.
Please do not diminish your post by saying, "Yet another....". These are great shots, and even if they were not, you are proudly presenting them and would be received respectfully.

Both are great shots, but that first one seals the deal for me!

You're right. In part I posted that because I felt like I had posted a similar title recently.

The shot isn't a tough composition... but I think the strength of the photo lies in its interpretation. At least for me.

Love that first one Derek. Light on the mountains and the valley is great.

Agree in part with what David said...I think you're shorting yourself by saying "Yet another..." I really like these, with #1 being the stronger image to me. Composition is really nice and the darkness in the sky feels like a genuine red filter, at least on my laptop. I would bring down the shadows a bit on the distant mountain range, but that could be due to me looking at it on a laptop.

I usually don't like top of the canyon shots, because there is usually nothing breaking up the horizon. These are great because the mountains provide a lot of relief from ground to sky.
