as in Florida Bobcat

I know the brush is pretty busy but, hey, this kitten ran out and I shot what I could.
How would you improve the crop/processing?

Thanks
Scott

Oh, and the mysteriously disappearing EXIF

Not quite the kitten I was expecting to see. Good job on the reactive capture.

Lighting was pretty tough on this one with the WB split warm/cool (see 100% max sat of OP below) on the subject ... but that comes with the territory when you shoot non-compliant subjects. I tried to bring the warm/cool a bit closer together and lift the subject a bit along with some desat.

Scott,

Nice cat-ch

Prefer the first with less saturated background.

EXIF - my experience: if you edit page during same session, EXIF vanishes when the page is refreshed. To restore - and I assume this is limited only to that single viewer - you (I) must exit FM and login again.

Species?

Definitely need to de-emphasis the background.

Lyle's rendition is appealing. The crops are good, although the second could possibly be tighter, but I'm of two minds:

I am digging Kent's reworks.

Definitely some tough light to deal with.

Cool cat, Scott!

Thanks Jeff,

The mrs. (a kitty person) saw my "calico kitty" and she kept asking me to adjust the angle on the laptop, not realizing that I had only made it as a diagnostic tool (nor that I'm using an IPS display) ... instead of the photo-finished image she thought I was (teasingly) showing her.

Thanks for all the feedback, reworks.
I would say that the vibrance of the vegetation is fairly accurate in my original captures. But Lyle and Kent's more subdued renderings nicely calm the busyness of the background.
I struggled with color temp including experimenting with a bit of warming. Ultimately I settled with As Shot and a Neutral picture style (which I am not sure effects the RAW as opposed to the embedded jpeg for preview).
I like the tighter crops and can even somehow tolerate the square crops
Nice job on the eyes as well, Lyle.

Scott
