Nice set. I like the scene in 1. I like the expressions in 2 & 3. 2 & 3 are my overall favorites, but the concrete slap in 3 seems to distract a little. You may want to try darkening it a bit or try a tighter crop - maybe even try a portrait crop. 5 is a cute and fun photo. The blurred fence in 2 is interesting.
thank you! #2 was actually my favorite go figure, I thought that the foreground element added something interesting but looks like lots of people dont like it unfortunately.
Thanks for the comments

Love your natural light in these shots. No. 1 is the game-winner for me.
Do you ever just ask for a serious expression, or just ask to stare intently into the camera. Most people/mothers think they're going to hate the non-smiling shots... until they see them.
I have not tried that actually yet but thats a great suggestion, thanks a lot. tips like this are what i need to progress as a portrait person.
thanks for the critique!

I agree...#1 has the best feel for me. Not a fan of the concrete slab and the fence seems distracting to me. I like the lighting on all of them though. TFS

seems to be the general consensus with the slab and fence, thanks for the critique and ill rethink next time i'm in those areas about how to use them better.

Image 1 is really nice.
Who cares if she has the same expression in all of them with a beautiful smile like that. Too bad you didn't get any wardrobe changes.
You did well. I hope she likes the images.
TFS!
she did love them very much and so did her mom. I loved them myself but theres always room for improvement. Wardrobe changes would have been awesome for sure.

The first one's the best for me. I like it a lot. Number 2 could be vastly improved by cropping to portrait orientation and losing almost all of the fence on the left side of the frame; it does nothing for the photo. The concrete slab ruins number 3; I just can't get past looking at it and wondering what the heck it is. Number 4 is nice, but I think the varied tones in the clouds (the stripe running across the sky) are a bit distracting. I would try to remove that if possible. And I love number 5; if only the leaves in her hands were actually airborne. Still, a very nice capture....Show more →
thanks for the comments.
i took several captures of leaves in motion on their own in hopes of compositing them in but I didnt have time. i want to try that later for sure.

Really good set. Count me in for the #1 shot as best.
The fence in the fence shot wasn't working for me. Not a big thing, but not 'best'.
Try some without the bright sky in the frame on your next shoot.
thanks Jim!

Dude, you did great here. The color and editing are spot on. Not to mention that the subject is perfectly comfortable in front of your camera.
REALLY well done!
Thank you Mike!
