Thanks Jeff. Sun was rising behind me, so that's causing the mountain and cloud pink lights. I've enhanced the vibrance a bit but it was turning pink then

Gotcha - I guess I'm a little confused as to what you're looking to put forward.

With the added enhanced moon and already overall darker image, I figured that you wanted a more nighttime look.

I [sloppily] burned those mountains down some, so it would seem they the light that is being cast is from that large moon.

Just a thought!

Jeff

Much better! Maybe a little dodging of the clouds to put extra light from the moon the clouds would have caught?

Thanks Karen and Jeff for the help and suggestions.

What am I going for? I'll use Kent's method 'phone call' method...
*ring ring*
"Hello?"
"Hey Jeff! Man you should have been here. I camped out last night under a full moon. Barely needed my headlamp to set up my tent. The early morning twilight was awesome. The contrast of moonset, partially frozen river, combined with the early pink color of sun rising behind me - it was a beautiful scene. Wonderful quiet in the valley. Felt like I had the whole park to myself!"

So... composition
Early morning twilight = dark blues, deep shadows.
Sunrise - tinges of pink, reflections along the river
Moon = Moon, with detail. Moonlight reflecting off the whole struggle of this thread. thanks everyone

Maybe I will dial back the mountains a smidge (somewhere between yours and mine) to get more 'twilight-y' feel. Karen's cloud dodging looks nice too.

Yeah, but that's okay. Everyone has feedback and opinions. And it is a high quality forum.

Taking another look after sleeping on it - the lower left of the moon could blended better.
Artistically, gonna keep the size the way it is.
