I was delighted to spend the weekend with good company at Emerald Lake in Yoho National Park, British Columbia. The weather was incredibly dynamic and led to some fantastic drama in the sky, with The President no less. Hope you enjoy

Matthew, what a beauty!
I prefer processing on the first, it is very appropriate for snow scene.

Nice shot. Personally I like the 2nd shot.

I prefer the color image greatly. That blue tone really sets the mood. Love sweeping curve made by the closest ridge to provide an exciting composition. The lone peak poking above the clouds also provides a point for the eye to rest on. Love the subtle and cool processing. Nicely done.

Thanks for the feedback and lovely comments! I initially started with the colour version but also liked the B&W as it seemed like some of the sky detail came through a little better while I like the smooth and cool styling of the first.

Hope you guys can get out to Emerald Lake if you haven't already been

Thanks Chris.

I used the Zeiss 100mm f/2 ZF for both shots. Fortunately it wasn't too cold, only about -2°C, a relief from the blistering -40°C the week prior!

The black and white is astounding. The comp is elegant and beautiful
