I don't know much about framing, but every large (20x30) frame I can find uses awful glazing. Is there a way to frame a photo with no glass/acrylic in front of the picture? I just want a thin black frame and no border other than the 1/4" border I have on the print itself.
I have most of my prints, including 20x30, dry mounted on gator board and my fine art printer coats it twice with a liquid UV protective coating. It looks great without any glass.
I just noticed before seeing your reply that the printer I use offers that. Looks pretty good. Do you use a hanger or a mount block? Is the UV coating necessary? I thought prints were pretty UV stable these days? Do you recommend luster protective coating or glossy?
