p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · A Peaceful Spot Along the River

I went up to Yosemite this past weekend, hoping to get the full moonrise/sunset over Half Dome.
But the weather didn't cooperate. With gray skies & overcast all day, I ended up hiking along the Merced. The recent rains did help as the river was up a foot or so and provided for some calm reflection. The falls were starting to flow too. The next morning did get some sun & the rising mists. Did manage to expose some film, B&W & transparency, which will post next week if they get past my color-minder

Hey Dan,

Nice work in these, they are looking pretty good, with #2 being my favorite and really liking how you worked the light in that one.

And aren't you thankful for Color-minders? They definitely don't pay color-minders near enough for the wonderful and dedicated work they provide.

Jim,
I wasn't sure about #2 as it get bright in the middle, but I went with the conflicting moods
BTW, I definitely appreciate all you volunteer color-minders!
The CBPOA definitely thank you all

The second really shows a calm place. Must have been a wonderful walk along the river.

Hey Dan!
Love the magic feeling the second has, despite being little overcrowded, it does it for me...
The first has very good dynamics between color and textures, and there is something about those fallen trees, that look like peers...

Heh Brother!
#2 outstanding! That small "island" just behind the falls is perfecto!! Just makes the image!

#2 is so calm and peaceful, I can almost feel the sound of water, and breath moist air.

I like these Dan. You definitely captured the mood in #2, but the first one is my favorite. I'm a sucker for reflections and I really like the fallen trees coming in from the right.

Thanks all,
Well it looks like #2 is the fave! I suspect because of the dynamics & mood ??
Sasha, as you mentioned, the sound of the water was just right, not too loud. Very pleasant place
I am partial to #1 as Alan is, probably because it is more a "Yosemite" scene with the cliffs, low hanging clouds & the reflections.
The great thing about Yosemite is that its much more than the iconic locations.
I spend most of my time hiking along the river now.
I'll visit an iconic spot at sunrise or sunset, just because.
