Sweet Tony. Your making it hard for my not to buy this lens. Have you tried it with a kenko 1.4x yet on the 7d2?

Thanks, Charles. Yes, it is pretty bad with a TC, especially the AF.

Great shot Tony, and handheld makes it even more amazing. Thanks for sharing.

Will be interesting to see how the 100-400 II with 1.4x TC will compare to the Sigma with and without a TC.

Mr Imagemaster that is a great shot. One questions for you have you ever done a post or written a blog about your long lens techniques?
You sir have some great photography skills

This is a really nice photo.

Have you noticed your Tamron 150-600mm being very slow to focus? At least compared to EF 100-400mm? Especially if it has to travel from close to far? Probably why they included the limiter.
I use it on a 1D Mk IV and am used to having very quick focus. Other than being slow, however, it seems to nail it.

I agree TC's are a no go.

Thanks, Jim. Me write a blog? You must be joking.

My long-lens technique does not involve tripods or Wimberley heads. Handheld 99.9% of the time. I try to keep my shutter-speed at least 2 or 3 times the focal-length I am shooting at, and use IS whenever it would be beneficial.

And I keep my fingers crossed.

Thanks, Ernie. I would not say very slow AF, but slower than the 100-400. I would never have bought the Tamron (or any other super-tele) that did not have a focus-limiter.

Not quite Imagemaster yet but I am learnign how to use this lens.
This was hand held but with higher SS. It is a 100% crop in PS and little amount of sharpening added.

1/60 @ 600mm, handheld? That's easy in BC in December because you're frozen solid

Jokes aside, nicely done Tony.
