p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Nightlife in Singapore

I have a spare night in Singapore during a work trip and am wondering if anyone could recommend vantage points for shooting the city lights. I'd assume Marina Bay would be a great location but not sure where to shoot from. Preferably somewhere I can get close to with the train. Thanks.

Two suggestions - outside Marina Bay Mall is a pedestrian area that allows you to walk round the bay with views over the water to the Skyscrapers of Singapore.. there is an Olympics theme to the walk ...

Continue round the water front - a detour is needed at one point before returning to the water-front - and photograph the Mer Lion - the most iconic of Singapore shots

Look at Google Maps and plot your route

I would go up the Marina Bay Sands complex - which gives an amazing view about 60 floors up.

I believe the mall that colinr is referring to is the The Shoppes at Marina Bay Sands. There is a boardwalk next to that mall that meets Marina Bay. Many opportunities here to capture all the tall skyscrapers of the Central Business District.

There is a pedestrian bridge next to Marina Bay Sands called The Helix Bridge. There are some viewing platforms there off the bridge where you can take pictures of some of the tall buildings. This is my write up:

As you continue counterclockwise around Marina Bay, there are more photo opportunities as you approach the Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay.

You have to walk up to reach the sidewalk on Esplanade Road to cross the Singapore River/Marina Bay (there is a pedestrian sidewalk under construction here). Then walk down and approach the Merlion. This is my write up of the Merlion:

Continue walking counterclockwise past The Fullerton. You can get some pictures of Marina Bay Sands and the pictures of the Suntec City and the tall buildings around there.

Continue your walk and you will eventually return back to Marina Bay Sands which is your starting point.

You can follow dbehrens advice and go to SkyPark at Marina Bay Sands for amazing views. Admission is SGD 23. No tripods allowed. So you have to weigh if it is worth going up there or not.

This should be enough for one night. Good luck.
