p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · studio flash for open photobooth

hi everyone.
i'm just searching for a photobooth studio flash.
i want to run an open one (backdrop, tripod, camera and a screen).
i was wondering how much power i need from the studio flash. i don't want to use speedlight cause i'll use to a quite high f stop, around 11ish, and the slow recycle time after some pops.
200watts are enough..like this one?

i need more power?
thanks a lot.

I would go with Alien Bees. They are made better than a lot of the budget strobes and are consistent... These are what we currently use - http://www.paulcbuff.com/b400.php

Definitely AB strobes. (ab400 should be plenty)

Cheap and reliable

I would go with Elinchrom D-lite2 or D-Lite4. They're available in Italy for sure....

I would wager that 2 speedlights with battery packs would recycle as fast or faster and provide ample light. Might just be more simple that way. Another thought is to just bump the ISO so that the flashes or strobe don't have to,work as hard. Just a thought.

I use D-lite 4 (400 Joule),shooting into a white umbrella, f11, ISO 400

Sometimes I have to crank them up to full power, so 200 Joule might not be enough...

i don't have speedlights that supports battery packs.
so buying 2 + 2 packs are not so convenient i assume...
