Well done Don....glad you weren't only focused on the cats and otters. The rich bird life in Pantanal is enough to get most of the people here excited. The great potoo is such a wacky looking bird...I'd have love to get a shot of it with eyes wide open...now that's a sight to see...and yes the jacamar is like a giant bee eating hummingbird which I never got to see
I'm sure there are lots more so keep 'em coming.

Thanks Eric. There are lots of birds that I missed as well. So I'll just have to make a return trip.

Happy Thanksgiving Don

Wow that Potoo is simply amazing! Awesome display sir!
Jacamar is a gorgeous presentation of both bird and prey, great color Don.
Been a long time since I have seen the Tiger Heron show up on the board, one of all time favorite Herons and lover your pano of it
Nice of the Stork to give you this opportunity
Beautiful feather color and pattern on the Savannah and a powerful pose. A little room left to perhaps accentuate the eye if you wanted...........you know me always like to tinker

Thanks Eric. I suppose many sightings depend on the time of the year; esp. for birds.
It's always nice having other things to shoot when the big stuff is hiding.
Potoo with eyes open; now that might take some work!

Thanks Karl for the "crits". I think I need to get you to do my processing. Yours is much better. I didn't realise I could bring out the face that much.
Thanks. Don

A great set , Don one of I have never seen this Potoo seems so similar to our Australian Tawny Frogmouth.
I have a family living on my property the first photo is male and female with the chick on the right.
They are nocturnal like the Potoo and will match the branches they are sitting on during the day.
At night they fly past you no sound or air movement , hunting insects.
The Tawny Frogmouth is a relation to our Kingfisher / Kookaburra

Amazing stuff Manfred. Great birds. That must be concurrent evolution.
I'd love to photograph those as well.
