p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Navajo Falls

When I posted first picture on my Facebook page, one of the responses was "That's a Disney location!" Can't disagree

Upper and Lower Navajo Falls are relatively new, and they came to being after 2008 flood (same that changed Havasu Falls from double to one steam).

Two first ones were shot mid-day, and the other two - early in the morning, so it kind of tells you when light is better

C&C welcome,

Sasha.

Just awesome images, all. First and last are out of the ball park. All the colors of a rainbow.

Great shots, I like #1 and #3 the most, but it is a very nice collection from a great location. Thanks for sharing.

I quite like these, especially 1 and 3. I would have loved less light in the top right hand side of the first to make it an even stronger image. Lovely.

Thanks, bringing out natural colors was my biggest concern, glad it worked!

Thank you! These are tricky to shoot, had to figure out the composition. Did not have time to explore views from the other side of the creek.

Greg, thanks!

As about adventure - there was not any
Everything went by plan, just the way I like it - except for being sort of sick just before going, and not really improving after spending two nights camping outside. Was trying hard to be careful not to fall into the water or from the cliff.
Loved the location, the people, the season, the campground, and even food in cafeteria
Wait for a flight back was kind of long, about 2 hours, but I got myself busy making friends with local dogs.
Helicopter was so much fun, I love flying!

Sasha.

Thanks, Kee, glad you like it. Maybe you will get a chance to visit, I am sure that's a kind of place you'll enjoy!

Mirza, thanks! I will try to see what can be done with #1, it's a pano. Perhaps I need to use the same trick in PP I figured later - to develop for the right part, and for the left, and then blend them together.

Sasha.

Very nice set - especially #1. What first came to mind when I saw it was above-water-coral-reef . Thanks for sharing.

I like them all. In the first you made the best of a tough sky.

Thank you, Dan. Last kind of has it all in a nice way.
It was taken on a way back to the village, in morning light.

Thanks for the comment! You are right, it does remind a coral reef

Thank you, Chuck. Sky was not tough, just not processed right. I think I have an idea now how to do it so its not blown.

The final image is the only one that I thoroughly enjoy, but man is it nice! I love the amazing spread of color from warm to cool. The shutter speed is perfect on the water, and I love the reflections a bit further upstream. I also really like the curve of the river in the foreground as well as the clear water under which many beautiful details can be seen. My only complaint is that the highlights on the canyon wall are a bit overexposed.
