Nikon has just decided to exchange my D600 for a new in box D610. I should have it in less than a week.

However, given the ISO and focus improvements of the D750, I would like to upgrade and not have to sell a BNIB 610 at somewhat of a loss. Has anyone had luck asking/convincing Nikon to offer up a purchase "credit" towards a D750?

I am not optimistic, but thought I would hear the stories before making such a request.

I would also like to say that Nikon has been nothing but professional and courteous throughout this process. If no luck, watch for a brand new 610 being listed!

The answer will always be no if you don't ask. Worst they could say is no, but I am not sure why they wouldn't let you as it would be more money in their pockets.

well, with the latest perceived light leak 750 issue you may be better off with a refined 610..now I have no clue if the 750 is going to end up being a bigger issue or not..but being a first adopter of first generation stuff is always a risk

I just got mine. And I asked. And the answer is no. They say they are not set up to do upgrades. All they have to give are 610s.

That's the big problem with these big companies, it's not the corporate that makes these decisions but working people with no variable income.
I have never been able to get an upgrade after sending it in for major issue. They would rather even pay me back the amount on my bill than to offer a credit (bigger possibilty of losing a customer).

Lets search for some more scientific information about this topic.
