p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Save for Web vs Save As

When saving an sRGB JPG for web purposes, is there any real advantage to using the "Save for Web" option over the "File > Save As" option? I know that in the Save for Web option, one has the ability to scrub out all of the EXIF data, but beyond that, any difference? (CS6)

Similarly, is there any advantage one method over the other in resizing a JPG (Image > Image Size) vs doing the resizing in "Save for Web"?

Save for web has meta-data options. It can strip metadata.... or some meta-data. Save as always saves meta-data.

Yes, I stated that I was aware of that.

Save As doesn't give you colour profile options as Save For Web does and you get a preview to see how your compression is affecting image quality.

First of all You can use save for web with multi-layered documents without flattening them and resizing.
So You can keep single PSD or Tiff file and export jpgs as needed- at desired resolution, file size, metadata.

If You want to do the same with save as You have to flatten, resize, set proper colorspace, strip metadata in separate moves.
