I don't think any marketing claims are very specific so the answer is always yes.
Is there some issue you have with the body?

I'm happy with mine so far. It'll take some time to fine tune the focusing for different sports, but seems to be a nice body. A bit harder on batteries, but much more processing power so that's to be expected. now just trying to sell a couple bodies to help pay for it. A few things I'd change like the menu system, you have to go thru all the sub menus as you are going through the main headings, but at least you can make more than one "my menu" pages so that helps. I really wish it had a touch screen and that the magnify button could be moved.

John, once you are viewing the menus, you can use the "Q" button to jump to the next category.

7D mk2 seems to be a very good match for sport or wildlife photographers due great focusing and 1.6 crop advantages.

But if you look at High iso shots 7D mk2 is average at the best and overall images taken with 7D mk2 still have that very digital look/washout colors. This might be the matter of personal taste/preferences though. I'd expect a bit more from Canon's 2014 sensors considering what is Nikon doing with Sony sensors.

Yes, it takes pictures (and videos too).

Thanks I'm wanting it for sports and wildlife the high ISO is secondary to the focusing and buffer so I guess that makes it trishidary.

I'm very happy with mine as a supplement to my 5D3. I have the 70-300 f/4-5.6 on it which allows the 24-105 on the 5D3. I wanted the extra reach of the 1.6x which I missed having gotten rid of my 50D. I'm happy with the quick focus (still getting used to some things with it) but the image quality compared with tight crops I had to do on the 5D3 are quite comparable. Nothing beats the 5D3 though in low light IMO. It IS a battery eater, though…big diff on that. (Even with GPS off.) It's a keeper for sure and hoping it gets a lot of use on safari next year!

I will be upgrading from a 7d when I do get the 7d2. Those that have done this was it worth the money?

If you were happy with the 7D I think you will be very happy with the 7D2.

This a nice upgrade and I have both "my menu" filled to the brim with often used settings; one for AF settings and the other for other things.

You can also make these the only 2 menus that pops up on the camera when you hit menu.
