I've photographed maybe a dozen newborns now, and I'm jinxed. Not one has slept despite everything we've done to prepare for that. So no molding into shape. At my latest newborn session, I did get these two shots. By the way, the newborn's name is Ansel. They just loved the name, but the idea of Ansel Adams added to it.

1. This was the shot they really wanted, and Ansel managed to fall asleep for about two minutes, just long enough for us to get it.

The second image confuses my brain the way the sleeve is cut and disappears into the background. My eye is drawn to that sleeve. First image is superb.

#1 is priceless and it's good to see the parents enjoying themselves before it's back to work!

#2 I like the arm from nowhere. I'd probably like it even more if the entire elbow was in frame and centered with a large black border. I could see that one printed huge and hanging in a gallery.
