Granted, its earlier than when this post normally appears, but we need more wedding content on the front page.

A few goals that I have for 2015

- Website redesign. In the works now. All new images, content, keywords, galleries
- Looking over current packages/offerings and seeing what changes to make
- Continue to concentrate on better posing. I started that this year and made (IMHO) big strides
- Continue to shoot new angles. I want to do a couple sessions in the off season with specific goals for the shoot, such as shoot only with a 35 lens, no "straight on" shots with a wall, etc
- Build better relationships with other vendors in the wedding industry besides photographers
- Get on my mtn bike more. It gives me time to think and relax.
- Streamline my editing process more, both for me and my editing clients. If I edit faster, clients (mine and other photogs) get their images back faster, and I have more time for other stuff.

My company will shoot over 100 weddings in 2015. Goals ...

1. Better crafted client experience — smoother — with fewer, more meaningful points of contact
2. Eliminating a few product offerings that gobble time and aren't terribly profitable
3. Leverage Smart Previews
4. Leverage Evernote

Longer blog posts (content wise)
Book 7 more weddings (currently stalled at 3, with two more in the works)
More flash and less reliance on a hacked fill light in post.

Work/life balance is the biggest. I've been scheduling more vacation time & looking to bring on an admin. I hope the admin will be able to do office work, as well as edit.

Growing my business through associates. I have one now and will be bringing another on in January. I don't just want warm bodies with a camera, but shooters that have the same style as me (to keep a consistent brand).

Photography related I want to continue to work on posing, creative angles, noticing moments, patience, and using flash outdoors.

Dude. My office doesnt have internet in it. My productivity has gone up BIG time. Now if I took off all the movies and tv shows on my computer I would be even more productive.

I mostly second shot in 2013, then did a handful of my own weddings this year, and my goal for 2015 is to really book up and start raising my prices.

I'll also be putting my wife to work as an assistant, so I can do the kind of lighting I want for portraits and dancing, instead of just taking the path of least resistance (a.k.a. lots of bounce flash or available light).

Speed up my workflow and turnaround time by a TON, because I love shooting, but hate editing.

Finally, I want to start pushing albums and other print and product sales, since I mostly just shoot and deliver at this point.

For the sake of discussion...

Guys that want to book more weddings, what's the plan to get there?

I would be careful with longer blog posts (50 images or more). Your most powerful images will get lost when people scroll.

- take fewer photos
- embrace personal projects even more
- make more money
- properly move
- refine office workflow
- sort out website
- keep doing all the stuff I already do
- be more consistent with after sales
- start the side business
- make sure the 3 trips in early 2015 happen
- replace my extremely old car
- get some new work shoes (mine are properly chewed up now)
- network more consistently and with a greater reach
- embrace every possible opportunity to poke fun at Tony
- make sure it's all good and fun

^Yeah I don't even blog (I plan to do that as well), but I personally think one should stick to the best of the best from each wedding and not dilute the impact of each post.

Word of mouth is catching on, but I also started advertising with a local wedding guide and want to make a lot more connections by sending images to venues and other vendors after each wedding.

I agree with this. There is definitely an art in itself to blogging a really concise and engaging set. Easy to just throw out loads and loads of images, but unless you have a very specific and important reason for doing so, I would probably refrain from blogging loads and loads of images.

It's an easy choice for me. My clients know they're not getting an enormous amount of images from the get go, and why, so the blog is a vehicle for part of this, allows them to easily share it, and for people to be engaged and contact me about it.

a few goals are a given for pretty much every year:
- greater consistency
- update portfolio
- review/update pricing structure
- stop buying so much stuff

other goals:
- clean my room
- teach / maybe workshop / maybe take a workshop
- still need to work on slowing down a bit
- communicate better with my clients during a shoot
- remembering people's names better
