So, what's your default for a stadium panorama? 18mm is not quite enough so I've tried stitching with 18mm and 35mm both horizontal and vertical. I'll keep practicing but I'm wonder what others do as a go to method- 14mm, 18mm, fisheye, stitching, etc.

If you want that curved fisheye look then the 15mm on a full frame body is nice otherwise the 14mm reticular is a good choice. I don't really like stitches unless you are trying to build a very wide and shallow panorama look.

The purpose of using a 14mm is to avoid stitching more or less. Anything longer than 14 is a candidate for stitching and the predicating factor becomes quality of glass at that point. I will do both when needing a wide angle shot. Also in the mix depending in the venue is the gigapan... but thats a different subject entirely.

I use an 8mm on a MK4 body for single shot pano/wide stadium shots, and if I am stitching I will use a 70-200 in vertical orientation

I used 40mm to do this.
