p.1 #1 · p.1 #1 · Bag for 7D Mark II and Sigma 120-300 2.8 Sport?

As there are a million different bags out there (OK, slight exaggeration), I am hoping to get a few suggestions on a camera bag for a specific purpose.

I plan on buying the 7D Mark II and the Sigma 120-300 2.8 Sport, along with the Sigma 1.4x and 2x TCs. I will be looking for a bag for snowshoeing that lets me carry these items plus my 17-55 2.8, spare cards, an extra battery and maybe a power bar. It would be nice but not absolutely mandatory if the bag could have a monopod or tripod strapped to it. It would be nice not take my full size bag snowshoeing. It would be a bonus if the bag allowed the lens to be mounted to the camera and provided for quick access to it.

I look forward to your suggestions.

Do you know the height of the camera & lens combo in the ready to shoot mode?

This may be a starting point.

Thanks for the reply cicopo. Not sure of the exact length of the combo as the sum of the parts will be longer than when all put together (due to the bayonet mounts). the body is 3.1", the lens is 11.46" and the 2x TC is 2" so about 16.6" total. Minus the mounts and it's perhaps 15.75"? Not sure how big the hood is and couldn't find anything providing that info. I would venture a guess of 4" - 5" so with hood on I would be looking for something 20" to 21" long; without hood about 16".

I'll start with the info in the link you provided.

Thanks

How much pain do you like?

Think Tank Streetwalker series

F-Stop Loka and above w/lrg or xlg ICU

These are 2 that I have experience with using a 300/2.8 and currently use the 120-300/2.8.
Though it can be done I do not attach my large lenses to bodies with that much mass when in travel mode but then that's me. Your other junk will fit too. no TCs attached either

I've used Kinesis gear and really like it.
Multiple packs and bags to accommodate almost any body/lens combo.

I got tired of looking for a decent (but affordable) bag for my 120-300 + Body .
in the end I got a decent rucksac (that i already had) and stuffed the supplied sigma case inside with the lid folded into the case (foam removed)
My rucksack allows me strap the case so it doesn't move but I also can stuff some things either side to stop any movement (waterproof trousers etc) .
the camera sticks out of the inner case unprotected but I use a couple of neoprene wetsuit hats to give it protection.

probably not the best option but so far its served me well .

that Kgear bag linked above (go for the 500 long lens case ) looks a good option though
